Analyzing Transcripts and Master Schedules to Promote College and Career Readiness for All

Printer-friendly versionPrinter-friendly version

Although all schools use master schedules and student transcripts, educators rarely analyze them to determine whether all students have access to a college and career-ready course of study and receive appropriate support. This interactive workshop will show how a careful analysis can reveal unexpected information about course offerings and participation, teacher distribution, and potential dropouts. Participants will learn ways to jump-start diffi cult conversations about topics such as which students are least likely to be on track to a college and career-ready diploma, which grade offers students the most support and whether the support drops off in a specifi c year, and whether new teachers are more likely to be assigned more students than veteran teachers.
