Find new tools for gap closing, as staff members from Roxbury Preparatory Charter School demystify the Curriculum Alignment Template (CAT). Using this home-grown model, teachers mine data from state tests and standards—plus their own creativity—to build a challenging curriculum. Session participants will get practice using a CAT. Such teacher-crafted plans guide students toward Comprehensive Exams and Projects, rigorous assessments offered three times yearly at this Boston middle school. A 2008 Dispelling the Myth Award winner, Roxbury Prep aims to prepare its students for top college-prep high schools.
