Secrets of Secondary Success: Jack Britt High School
With 1,800 students roughly split between white students and students of color, Jack Britt High School shows that with thoughtful instruction and careful attention to school environment, diverse high schools can produce academic excellence. Hear about the high school that is widely credited with sparking a building boom in its neighborhood near the Fort Bragg army base. As Britt’s reputation grows, more and more families want to send their children there. “Everybody wants to know the secret sauce,” says Principal Denise Garison. “There’s no secret—it’s hard work.”
