Session 24: Teachers Matter Most: Differentiating Teacher Compensation and Paying for Performance

Printer-friendly versionPrinter-friendly version

How do we reward effective teachers in high-need schools? What models exist to ensure low-income and minority students have access to the best teachers? Two districts are tackling these questions with their pioneering differentiated compensation programs: “Mission Possible” in Guilford County Schools and the “Teacher Advancement Program” in Eagle County Schools. The session will provide information about the components of the programs with a focus on the performance-based compensation and differentiated roles for teachers.
