Session 41: Bridging the Education Gap in California. PART B: Implementation and Lessons Learned
A follow-up to session #29, this panel brings together community leaders, a researcher, and a LAUSD School Board member to discuss the challenges of implementing a uniform college prep curriculum in LAUSD. Community leaders discuss lessons learned as members of the District’s A-G Implementation Committee and the challenges of moving from policy to implementation. They argue that a year after the School Board passed the A-G policy little progress has been made toward successful implementation. They discuss strategies to pressure the District to implement the A-G policy and share their vision of a movement for educational justice in Los Angeles.
