A disconnect often exists between what educators and students believe. This workshop will review theory and research on the developmental needs of adolescents that suggests adolescents need and want a rigorous curriculum and high expectations. If given the opportunity, they will set challenging goals for themselves. Participants also will discuss data and surveys available to school counselors to identify students who are on or off track for life after high school.
