Standards in Practice™ (SIP) is a professional development model that focuses on the very heart of instruction—the assignment. Developed by The Education Trust staff, SIP can help ensure that all instructional activities are rigorous from classroom to classroom and are aligned with the state’s curricular standards.

By focusing on classroom assignments, this collaborative interactive model guides educators in examining their assignments, instruction, and students’ work. Educators can use the framework both to inform and evaluate the quality of instruction and assignments.
